History of our eco-responsible approach to packaging
At Idoine, every decision we make reflects our commitment to eco-responsibility and sustainability. The creation of our new individual boxes featuring our glass-printed products is no exception. We wanted to find a solution that respected our values while providing an aesthetically pleasing and practical experience for our customers.
The first question we asked ourselves was: how can we reduce the environmental impact of a fleeting product like packaging? The answer was to create a box that could be recycled in all sorting centers, without exception. To achieve this goal, we decided to use a simple white box, as only light colors are easily detected and efficiently sorted in recycling systems. We eliminated any options that would have added non-recyclable layers, such as selective varnish or metallic elements. These choices, while sometimes visually appealing, make multi-layer packaging non-recyclable, something we wanted to avoid at all costs.
In addition to these choices, we have also opted to use 30% recycled cardboard for the manufacture of our individual boxes. This further reduces our environmental footprint while ensuring the packaging is recyclable.
Although our box may seem simple at first glance, it represents a complex and thoughtful approach. This simplicity ensures that each box can have a second life through recycling. It's not just packaging; it's a promise that this temporary waste will not become a permanent burden on our environment.
At the same time, we've made a significant breakthrough by printing our products directly onto our glass bottles. This innovation eliminates the need for traditional labels, reducing additional waste. It also extends the lifespan of bottles within our deposit program, as glass prints are much more durable than labels that can degrade or peel off over time.
These choices, while seemingly simple, are the result of a rigorous approach aligned with our beliefs. At Idoine, we believe that every little bit helps make a big difference. And, through this new initiative, we hope to inspire our customers to be part of this shift toward a more sustainable world.
